One of our first acts as new renters was to throw a 1929-themed party. A bunch of our friends were coming into town, so we figured we’d make them spend even more money on clothing and accessories and expand on our habit of finding more and more expensive places to get together and drink by adding costumes to the mix. It was a great party and we were very impressed by our friends’ willingness to humor us, but we’re a little concerned by the timing and theme of our party and the collapse of the financial system in our country.
